!!! Sold Out Tour !!!

Of all the places I have visited in the world, few are as beautiful and as accessible as The Canadian Rockies.

Come join me as I guide you to some of the most incredible landscapes of the region, at the best times of day and making the most of the typically changeable mountain weather. Having spent 7 years living in the region I will help you capture amazing images of the Rockies. Not just a photo-tour, this trip will include in-depth field tuition, and we will also have structured processing tutorial time to help you with all the technical aspects of landscape photography; from image capture, through processing, to print and web sharing.
Included in this trip are 2 amazing nights in the incredible Assiniboine Provincial Park. We will helicopter in to our simple but beautiful cabins and spend 2 whole days exploring this amazing place with its beautiful lakes and majestic mountains, including Assiniboine itself under the starry skies (if Mother Nature cooperates of course).

Let me, Phillip Norman an award-winning photographer, Australian born Canadian, be your guide and tutor.

Notes:

Fitness: Most of the locations we will visit can be reached within 30 to 60 minutes of easy to moderate walking on good trails (sometimes less). For the Mount Assiniboine portion of the trip, many amazing photographic opportunities exist within easy walking distance of the base cabins on relatively flat good trails. A reasonable level of fitness is recommended. There are also some amazing vantage points on the tops of some of the hills around the area, which will require 30-90 minute challenging hiking up steep hills on sometimes rough trails. These are optional and if you chose to stay around the cabins you will not be disappointed or limited in any way.

Accommodation: This will be confirmed once I get numbers but typically we stay in 3.5 or 4 star motel style units on a twin share basis. As a couple you would have your own room. You may be sharing a unit with others but separate rooms are provided.

Experience: I cater primarily for beginner and intermediate photographers; all levels are welcome.

Our primary focus is field work, to make sure you get as many photography opportunities as possible. In the 10 days we will have 4 formal tuition sessions, and 2 casual processing discussions.
The above itinerary is a guide only as we have to be flexible based on the weather. I will do my best to get to as many of the places listed above in the time available.
There will be some days that start before dawn and finish late at night. Meal time may vary from normal to account for sunset and sunrise. Being flexible and changing your normal schedule is part of capturing the landscape in different light to what most people see on a ‘normal’ day. Most things are optional. Be prepared to do things a little differently to what you may be used to!
